Terms of Service

Last updated: 11/11/2025

1. Introduction

Welcome to SplitEase! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our application and services (the "Service"). By using SplitEase, you agree to these Terms. Our service is designed to help you and your friends track and manage shared bills.

2. Description of Service

SplitEase is a tool for tracking shared expenses. It is not a bank, payment processor, or money services business. The Service allows users to create bills, split them with contacts, and track who has paid. The actual transfer of money occurs on external, third-party platforms (such as PayPal or through direct bank transfers) chosen by the users. SplitEase only provides information and links to facilitate these payments; it does not process, hold, or transmit funds.

3. User Responsibilities

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, including your payment details (e.g., PayPal email).
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password.
  • You agree that SplitEase is not a party to any payment transaction and is not responsible for any issues or disputes between users related to payments. It is your responsibility to confirm that payments have been sent and received.

4. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose. You agree not to use the Service in any way that could damage the Service, or interfere with any other party's use and enjoyment of the Service.

5. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. SplitEase makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims all warranties. We are not liable for any damages or losses arising from your use of the service or from any disputes between you and other users.

6. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.

7. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
